Please contribute to medical fees for Joe Saltel

 

Hello everyone,

 

In case you have not heard about a wonderful caller named Joe Saltel, you should know his story.

 

Joe Saltel has been a square dance caller based in McAllen, Texas for decades.  He has been a caller of great acclaim all over this country and abroad.  Joe Satell has taught hundreds of people to square dance.  He has travelled to Colorado to call numerous times, most recently the High Country weekend in 2023. He has served and given to the square dance community for years.

 

After an injury around a year ago, Joe has suffered multiple health scares and conditions. He has been unable to work, since his lungs are compromised. Joe has no other source of income, and the medical bills are mounting up.

 

The square dance clubs in the Southeast area are unified in their efforts to raise some funds for Joe and his wife Chris. Each club has decided to donate the club's portion of the 50/50 drawing to the Saltels during the month of May. SEASDC will be making a contribution as well.

 

Since we only have one scheduled dance in May, I suggest that we also do the same in June. Additional donations for the Saltels are welcome and will be collected at our dance on Wednesday June 11, 2025. You can contact us if you have questions.  I strongly encourage our members and friends to attend these dances and buy lots of the 50/50 tickets.  Thank you for that and any additional contributions you may be moved to donate to Joe and Chris.
